Medzinárodný projekt Billboart Gallery Europe je alternatívnou platformou pre prezentáciu súčasného umenia vo verejnom priestore. So zámerom priviesť umenie bližšie k divákovi otvoril permanentné výstavné priestory na billboardových plochách v najrušnejších lokalitách všetkých hlavných miest strednej Európy ako aj v Záhrebe, Belehrade, Iasi, Kijeve, Vilniuse, Jerevane a Tbilisi. Cirkulovanie projektov medzi týmito pobočkami zabezpečuje udržanie základnej idei projektu - idei spolupráce a komunikácie v rámci networku.
Regionálny galerijný program je okrem výmenných projektov tvorený aj výtvarnými dielami pracujúcimi s kontextom tej ktorej krajiny. Vrámci podprojektu Slovak Sublabel - Billboart Gallery SK vystavila v Bratislave svoje práce česká audiovizuálna aktivistická skupina Guma Guar v zložení Milan Mikuláštík, Dan Vlček a Richard Bakeš. V galérii HIT prezentovali svoje sety na pomedzí video-artu, elektronickej hudby a vj-ingu dekonštruujúce funkcie masmédií a zaoberajúce sa vojnou proti teroru. |

The international project Billboart Gallery Europe is an alternative platform for contemporary art in the public space. With the intention to bring art closer to the viewer, it creates its permanent exhibition space on billboard surfaces, located in the exposed areas of all central European capitals, as well as in Zagreb, Belgrade, Iasi, Kiev, Vilnius, Yerevan and Tbilisi. The circulation of these projects within the mentioned network secures the successful sustainability of the idea of network cooperation and communication.
Apart from exchange projects, the regional gallery program consists of works operating within the context of the given country. Within the framework of The Slovak Sublabel - Billboart Gallery SK, the Czech audiovisual activist group Guma Guar (consisting of Milan Mikuláštík, Dan Vlček and Richard Bakeš) showed its works in February and March 2004. The exhibited sets by Guma Guar in Gallery HIT negotiate the marginal spaces between video art, electronic music and vj-ing, as they work on deconstructing the functions of mass media and focus on the current topic of war against terror. |
